Sunny is the co-founder and CEO of Apptio, responsible for company vision, strategic direction, planning and execution. Sunny's enterprise software career spans more than 20 years with roles in general management, strategic marketing, product management and business development. Before founding Apptio, Sunny was Executive VP of Products at Opsware and was responsible for all of Opsware product businesses up to its acquisition by HP for over $1.6 billion.
Demonstrating his passion for pioneering innovative solutions to complex enterprise technology problems, Sunny co-founded iConclude and created the IT runbook automation market. Sunny served as the company’s CEO, serving customers such as ACS, Alaska Airlines, Glaxo Smith Kline and Halliburton, until its acquisition by Opsware. Previously, Sunny held senior leadership roles in Products, Business Development and Engineering at Mercury Interactive, Rational Software, and IBM. Sunny earned a BS in Computer Science from the University of South Carolina. He was also selected as one of the Top 40 CEOs under 40, named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year in 2012, and was named CEO of the Year by the 2015 Executive Excellence Awards.
Kurt is a co-founder and CFO at Apptio. Kurt brings more than 15 years of financial and operational management experience to the company. Prior to co-founding Apptio, Kurt oversaw the corporate finance, legal, accounting, human resource, and information technology functions at iConclude. Kurt was instrumental in completing the successful sale of iConclude to Opsware in 2007.
Before joining iConclude, Kurt was VP of Finance at Pacific Edge Software where he led fundraising efforts that secured over $40 million in venture equity and debt financing. Kurt's tenure at Pacific Edge culminated in the sale of the company to Serena Software. Kurt began his career at Ernst & Young LLP's assurance and advisory business services group. He holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Washington.
Ted Kummert is Apptio’s executive vice president of engineering and cloud operations and is responsible for driving Apptio’s global engineering and SaaS practice. Most recently, Kummert served as a venture partner at Madrona Venture Group.
Prior to Madrona, Kummert drove major product and business initiatives for Microsoft for more than two decades. During his tenure at Microsoft, Kummert led teams across a broad set of technologies, including operating systems, consumer online services, enterprise security and enterprise application platform. As corporate vice president of the Data Platform Group, Kummert led the development of several key Microsoft enterprise products including SQL Server, SQL Server Parallel Data Warehouse, Windows Azure Data Services and Microsoft's business intelligence and big data offerings. Prior to Microsoft, Kummert worked for Apple and Hewlett-Packard.
As the Chief Marketing Officer of Apptio, Chris holds responsibility for strategy and world-wide market development. He is an accomplished enterprise software executive with over 20 years of experience in building new categories and executing differentiated go-to-market strategies. In early 2012, Chris championed the spin out of Apptio's CIO advisory board into a nonprofit business entity of more than 500 members focused on creating the professional discipline, standards and industry benchmarks required to manage the business of IT. As such, Chris serves as the President of the Technology Business Management Council to help CIOs transform the IT value proposition via TBM methodologies and best practices.
Prior to Apptio, Chris was an operating partner in Austin Ventures' CEO-in-residence program where he focused on identifying new growth strategies and defining disruptive business models. He was also the Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Products at NetIQ for eight years and ran Ernst & Young's Global security practice for four years.
As the President of Worldwide Field Operations, Alex is responsible for Apptio’s integrated sales and services functions globally. With a career spanning more than 25 years of driving technology-company revenue and establishing new market categories, Alex is a recognized leader in enterprise marketing SaaS.
Joining Apptio in 2013, Alex previously served as the President of Eloqua where he was responsible for leading the organization’s global sales, customer success, and field operations teams delivering exceptional service to more than 1,100 clients worldwide. Alex was integral in leading Eloqua’s category creation as an enterprise SaaS company, and in 2012 was a member of the team which helped bring Eloqua to a successful public offering, subsequently being acquired by Oracle. Prior to Eloqua, Alex served in sales and services leadership roles at IBM Corporation, BMC Software, Vignette Corporation, and TeleTech Holdings. He holds a degree in marketing from the University of Texas at Austin.
John is Apptio’s EVP, Corporate Development and General Counsel, responsible for corporate development, strategic business development, legal, privacy, corporate governance and compliance matters. He has extensive experience working with technology companies, especially in growing and scaling enterprise SaaS businesses. John brings significant transactional leadership experience including more than 50 domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, 20 initial public offerings and follow-on public security offerings, and numerous equity and debt financings, as well as advising on corporate governance, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, data privacy, IT security and general business matters. He has deep expertise working with the Boards of Directors and senior management teams of both private and public companies.
Prior to joining the Apptio team, John was SVP, Corporate Development and Legal Affairs, General Counsel and Secretary at Vertafore, a leader in modern insurance technology acquired for $1.4 billion in 2010. During his tenure at Vertafore, he held a variety of roles and was most recently responsible for corporate development, strategic business development, legal matters, data privacy, IT security and compliance. John was previously a shareholder with Heller Ehrman LLP, a major international law firm, specializing in representing technology companies. He holds a BA in political science from DePauw University and a JD from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
Britt is Apptio's Vice President of People and Culture, responsible for leading Human Resources, coaching executives and managers to become more effective leaders, and fostering Apptio’s high performing culture. Britt has over 15 years of experience leading HR teams in all aspect of the function, across a number of business sectors.
Before joining Apptio, Britt was VP, Human Resources at Avanade, a global technology solutions and managed services firm. She served in many roles during her tenure at Avanade including leading HR for their APAC business, Service Lines organization and all Corporate functions. She was a trusted advisor to many Avanade leaders, while also creating and delivering key strategic and operational people programs as part of her responsibility. Britt is passionate about creating an amazing employee experience. She also believes that HR contributes to business growth and performance by developing talent and showcasing and strengthening a strong organizational culture. She holds a BA from the University of Washington and a MBA from University of Colorado.
Paul is a co-founder and CTO of Apptio, responsible for the continued development of the company’s SaaS platform. Paul has more than 15 years of software architecture experience and spent more than a decade building performance and troubleshooting tools for Java and .NET, first at Compuware and NuMega Technologies and more recently at Mercury Interactive and HP, where he was the Chief Architect of the Diagnostics component of Business Availability Center and LoadRunner.
At Mercury, Paul led a team of engineers through a multi-year feature sprint and incremental re-architecture of Diagnostics, taking the product from the brink of market failure to Gartner’s leader’s quadrant, resulting in a 6x revenue improvement to over $40 million per year. Paul holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Larry is Vice President of Sales and has responsibility for worldwide sales and technical field operations. Larry is an accomplished sales executive with over 18 years of experience building and leading high performance sales teams in the enterprise software industry. His successful track record includes leadership roles across the full spectrum of IT operations and application management technologies.
Prior to joining Apptio, Larry was the Vice President of Sales responsible for HP Software's enterprise sales organization in the eastern US, a business comprised of six sales regions and a staff of 50 sales professionals. Larry joined HP Software via their acquisition of Opsware, where he was the Senior Vice President of Sales for Eastern North America. Before beginning his sales career, Larry spent four years as a commissioned officer in the United States Army. Larry holds an MBA from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.
Dione is Senior Vice President of Customer Success and oversees Apptio's professional services, success management, education, and customer support teams. Dione has over 20 years of experience in enterprise IT, including over a decade of executive experience. Prior to joining Apptio, Dione served as vice president of worldwide professional services and managed services at Precise Software Solutions, where she oversaw the restructuring of the professional services team and built the managed services delivery team from the ground up. During her tenure at Precise Software, she was named to the MSPmentor list of top 250 managed services executives.
Prior to that, Dione was the vice president of field operations at Pano Logic and was responsible for the company's sales, alliances, support and services. She also served in a number of roles at Mercury Interactive, including vice president of managed services, where she built Mercury's SaaS business from scratch, vice president of professional services for the Americas, and vice president of services, responsible for Mercury's global delivery practice. Dione holds a B.S. in computer science and engineering from UCLA.
As Vice President of Business Development, Stan is responsible for strategic technology alliances and ecosystem development. Most recently, Stan led business development for Intelligent Results, a business intelligence and predictive analytics software company, where he developed the company's partner ecosystem, closed key partner deals, and drove the company's acquisition by First Data Corporation.
Earlier in his career, Stan led strategic alliances for IBM's Rational Software division, managing relationships with some of the industry's leading players including Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, and Intel. Stan was also Vice President of Business Development and Marketing for NCompass Labs, a web-content management software company. Stan holds a BS in aerospace engineering from the MIT and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
