BELLEVUE, Wash. - February 15, 2011 - Apptio, the leading provider of on-demand Technology Business Management (TBM) solutions, today announced a series of webinars in conjunction with SteelGlass Consulting, to help educate a new generation of business leaders on the critical nature of financial transparency within IT organizations. With a focus on educational content, these webinars qualify for continuing professional education (CPE) for many certifications.
Financial transparency has become a necessity for many CIOs, business leaders and financial executives as they struggle to better align IT investments with business goals. For most organizations, financial transparency remains elusive as IT financial professionals endeavor to understand, measure, allocate and communicate the cost of IT. This series of educational webinars is designed specifically for IT financial management professionals to help them run IT like a business.
Understanding and Leveraging Financial Transparency to Improve Business Alignment
Who: Attendees will include IT financial management professionals, managers and executives – as well as IT directors and executives interested in learning more about IT financial transparency.
What: Delivered as part of Apptio's Technology Business Management Educational Program, the series is delivered in four levels: FT100, FT200, FT300 and FT400.
- FT100: an introduction to Technology Business Management (TBM), the discipline and best practices for managing the business of IT. Attendees will also learn more about cost allocation methods for IT, including pros and cons of each, and the basics of a service utility model.
- FT200: provides IT and finance leaders with practical knowledge about the building blocks for a successful IT Financial Transparency program, such as the service catalog, development of service rates, and benchmarking.
- FT300: will discuss the benefits of accurate and consistent reporting to both IT "buyer" and "seller." Apptio and SteelGlass speakers will cover application costing, billing (chargeback and showback), and demand management.
- FT400: illustrates the full impact a comprehensive financial transparency program can deliver. You will see how to compare the pricing of technology solutions, how to drive buyer (IT consumer) behavior, and leverage activity-based costing.
