Enables Enterprises to Utilize Microsoft System Center 2012 Data in Apptio Technology Business Management Suite

BELLEVUE, Wash. – February 28, 2013 – Apptio, a provider of on-demand technology business management (TBM) services, today announced that the company has joined the Microsoft System Center Alliance. The relationship will enable enterprise customers to quickly and securely import data on their datacenter, cloud and client environments from Microsoft System Center into the Apptio TBM suite.

Apptio’s TBM technology takes advantage of data from System Center to provide enhanced transparency and decision-making capabilities for the IT department and their business counterparts. This advanced integration allows Apptio to include operational data as part of its IT cost and consumption models, including service performance information from System Center Operations Manager, rich infrastructure data from System Center Configuration Manager and System Center Virtual Machine Manager, and CMDB and ticket data from System Center Service Manager. This data is then integrated into Apptio through manual upload, or automatically via Apptio Datalink.

Apptio’s Datalink feature enables data from many source systems to be automatically and securely collected and imported into Apptio, requiring limited customer infrastructure investment, configuration or maintenance. To accelerate implementation time, Apptio provides pre-built connectors to many common IT systems, including Oracle, vCenter, ServiceNow and many others.
