Apptio Shares Best Practices for IT Leaders at Gartner Summit on the Heels of Introducing a New Standard Operating Model for IT

ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 8, 2014 — GARTNER IT Financial, Procurement & Asset Management Summit 2014 — Apptio®, the leading provider of cloud-based Technology Business Management (TBM) software, is excited to attend Gartner’s ITFPAM Summit to introduce the standard operating model for IT to attendees and speak about the value of managing the business of IT through actionable metrics.

Apptio executives Chris Pick and Todd Tucker will be on-hand at Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center on September 8-10 to discuss the key themes important to summit attendees. Details of their speaking sessions, include:

  • Chris Pick, Chief Marketing Officer
    •  When: Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 9:30am ET
    •  Topic: Mind the GAAP: Creating a Global Standard for IT Financial Management
  • Todd Tucker, Senior Director of Strategic Marketing
    • When: Monday, Sept. 8 at 2:15pm ET
    • Topic: Cost Transparency Can Bridge the Divide Between Finance and IT

Just last month, Apptio introduced the newly-endorsed Apptio TBM Unified Model™ (ATUM™). ATUM standardizes IT cost and data models and is now integrated into the Apptio platform and its applications, creating the first standard operating model for IT. Attendees of Gartner’s ITFPAM will be the first audience to hear Apptio’s experts speak publicly on the business benefits of the ATUM model. With Apptio’s standard IT operating model, IT leaders can make faster, data-driven decisions about the cost, quality and value of their technology.

“Managing IT costs is a laborious process that continues to be time consuming, iterative, and inaccurate, said Chris Pick. “Just as finance executives have Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, or the GAAP standard, to measure and report on financial performance; Apptio has developed ATUM to provide IT with a similar standard to measure the cost, quality, and value of IT. I am thrilled to showcase these capabilities to ITFPAM attendees.”
