Apptio’s new feature, Self-Service Reporting, empowers Cost Transparency and IT Financial Management Foundation users to create on-demand, personalized views of their IT financial data for greater analysis, decision-making, and collaboration.
Historically, organizations have been constrained by their reporting processes and heavy reliance on their TBM Analysts (“TBMAs”) to provide reports. Inundated by multiple requests, TBMAs need to reconcile and prioritize these conflicting demands, further complicating and extending an often weeks-long process. The only option available to users was to work around these deficiencies by exporting data to an external tool for analysis. For most, this meant repeating manual processes to conduct analyses each month, which was both time consuming and error-prone.
With Apptio Self-Service Reporting, all Apptio users can query their IT data within Apptio to drive robust conversations and critical business initiatives through real-time contextual data analysis and collaboration. This intuitive feature allows users of all skill sets to configure and save data visualizations on-demand, eliminating reliance on TBMAs for report creation.
Once created, a report can be immediately shared with anyone in the organization through a link. Users can search through these shared reports, saving their favorites for easy reference. These capabilities enable every user to analyze data, facilitate discussion and drive decisions on IT spend.
Self-Service Reporting currently supports data related to the General Ledger and IT Resource Towers within Cost Transparency and IT Financial Management Foundation. Throughout this year we will extend to the vendor and contract data within Vendor Insights, chargeback data within Bill of IT, and planning data within IT Planning.
